Man Could Lose Leg After Serious Oklahoma Auto Accident Injury

A man sustained serious Oklahoma Auto Accident Injuries as the result of a crash that occurred earlier this week. Reports indicate that alcohol may have been a contributing factor to the crash.

According to an article from The Express-Star, the victim was driving a vehicle hauling a trailer along Highway 81 at approximately 12:40 a.m. Monday morning when he pulled to the right of the fog line to inspect the trailer. When the victim got out of the vehicle, he was struck by an oncoming pickup truck.

The impact of the collision left the victim with severe injuries to his lower left leg. Paramedics transported the man to a local hospital, where doctors determined the leg mill most likely have to be amputated due to the extent of the injuries sustained in the accident.

Meanwhile, police questioned the driver of the red pickup truck. Further investigation determined the driver of the truck was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He was taken into custody and later charged with Driving Under the Influence (DUI), DUI causing great bodily harm, and failure to maintain a single lane of traffic.
