An Oklahoma Boating Accident that occurred last week claimed the life of a 55-year-old Oklahoma City man and leaving two children injured. Reports indicate the crash happened at around 10 p.m. on the Fourth of July at Eufaula Cove in Eufaula Lake, outside Mannford, Oklahoma.

According to an article from ABC 8 News, a 30-year-old man was operating a watercraft along the lake with his wife and two children as passengers. As the boater was passing through the cove, he struck two other boats that were anchored together.

The impact forced the moving boat into the air, where it subsequently landed on top of the other two boats before reentering the water. The crash threw the 55-year-old occupant of one of the stationary boats into the water and left two children aboard the same watercraft injured. The body of the male victim was recovered the following day.

The boater responsible for causing the crash has been in contact with the authorities after initially fleeing the scene and is expected to turn himself in to law enforcement. No charges have been filed but they are expected to be announced at the conclusion of an investigation into the incident.
