National Tornado Summit Held in Oklahoma City

Tornadoes are a serious danger to citizens in the state of Oklahoma. In fact, data indicates there were 79 such atmospheric events last year, with an average of 55 tornadoes touching down in the state per year since 1950.

An article from the Insurance Journal states the event will feature several keynote speakers, including the mayors of Tuscaloosa and Moore, discussing the lessons they learned following a violent storm. Event participants will also be invited to join several workshops that include breakout sessions where issues like communication and school safety during storms can be discussed.

  • Stay Safe- If a tornado does touch down in your area, get to the safest location near you.
