The Oklahoman reported that an off-duty deputy was hospitalized in critical condition at St. John’s Regional Medical Center after a one-car Oklahoma auto accident. According to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report, speed and alcohol were both factors in the car accident.
The 35-year-old deputy was placed in an induced coma after suffering a broken back and potentially a broken neck. The driver lost control of his vehicle and hit a road sign, which caused his car to flip over twice, coming to rest upside down. The driver was thrown 42 feet from the vehicle in the Oklahoma auto accident.
