The Oklahoman reported that Oklahoma auto accident numbers are lower in 2008 than in 2007 due to compliance with seatbelt laws.
Oklahoma auto accident-related deaths decreased by 9.2 percent this year, according to the Highway Safety Office. They also said this is the fourth year that deaths have declined.
690 deaths due to Oklahoma car accidents were reported for 2008.
The Highway Safety Office says seatbelt enforcement education is to credit for the continued decreasing numbers in Oklahoma auto accident deaths.
