Three Injured In Oklahoma Boating Accident

by Colbert Cooper Hill Attorneys

Three people suffered serious injuries as the result of an Oklahoma Boat Accident this holiday weekend. According to an article from KTEN 10 News, the incident occurred Saturday on Lake Texoma in southern Oklahoma.

Reports indicate the boat involved had just filled up with gas at the Grand Pappy Marina moments before a massive explosion aboard the vessel rocked the area and threw three passengers and their dog into the water. Witnesses were able to pull all of the victims to shore, where they were rushed to a local hospital to receive treatment for injuries resulting from the explosion.

Game wardens conducting an investigation into the accident say that preliminary findings are pointing to a defective blower on the boat’s engine as the primary cause for the explosion.

The Oklahoma Personal Injury Lawyers with J. Colbert Injury Lawyers say that manufacturers of boats and their engines have a responsibility to ensure their products are safe for use by consumers. Manufacturers have a duty to conduct necessary recalls of products found not to meet certain safety standards.

That is why J. Colbert Injury Lawyers suggests discussing your legal options with an attorney if you have been injured in a boating accident through no fault of your own.
