A 59-year-old man from Tulsa, Oklahoma, was killed in an Oklahoma Construction Accident last week. Reports indicate that the incident occurred Wednesday night along East 51st Street in downtown Tulsa.

According to an article from 9 News, the worker was part of a crew setting up cones along the curb of the street. As he was performing his duties, a pickup truck veered into the closed lane and collided with the worker. The truck failed to come to a complete stop following the collision and dragged the worker roughly 25-feet along the asphalt before coming to a halt.

The victim was transported to a local hospital, but died shortly after arrival.

While the Tulsa Police Department has confirmed the investigation into the accident is still open, detectives were able to confirm the victim was wearing a reflective vest at the time of the accident. Speed has also been eliminated as a potential contributing factor.

Authorities are conducting tests to determine if the driver of the pickup was under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.
