Oklahoma Promotes Motorcycle Safety Through New Website

In 2011, around 1,400 motorcyclists were killed as the result of crashes in Oklahoma alone. Distracted Teen Driver Causes Accident Injuring Three

A study released earlier this year by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety found that the chances of a new teen driver being involved in a motor vehicle accident grew exponentially with the amount of passengers inside the vehicle. Data showed the chances of a crash jumped by nearly 50 percent with one passenger in the car, but skyrocketed to a 258 percent increase with two passengers in the vehicle. The number continued to inflate to a 307 percent increase in the likelihood of a crash with three or more passengers. (more…)

Safety Technology Lauded For Reducing Fatal Highway Collisions

The National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced yesterday that the number of fatal highway accidents has dropped to a 60-year low. According to CBS News, there was a 1.6 percent decrease in the total number of deaths last year, dropping to approximately 32,000 deaths per year. (more…)
